We believe that the needy should never be served poorly
Here at our place our guests are served as we are all at a "Banquet." It begins with one of our greeters visiting with our guests outside before the doors open at 5:30. Another escort brings our guests to the stairs or elevator. As they enter the lower level, another volunteer greets them and one of the escorts takes seven guests to a table. One chair is left open for a volunteer to join them later. Another escort seats people at table two and so on. As soon as the first table is full, the servers begin their job to serve our guests who come to enjoy a wonderful meal prepared with love by a group from our community - a group who believes in this ministry and wants to be a part of it not only once but again and again.
The guests marvel over the beautiful table setting - fresh flowers, colorful tents noting who served the meal, etc. and of course REAL plates and silverware, not plastic.
We nourish the body with food and the spirit with dignity and respect. We listen to our guests tell their stories. We support their struggling. We encourage the weak. We are gentle to all. We are a companion to all who come. We have reached out to our brothers ans sisters in need and we have responded to that need with compassionate concern. The greatest act of charity is to restore a person's dignity.
Our volunteer groups come from churches and groups within the community. They come from all walks of life. We believe that serving the needy is everyone's job.
We started with 103 guests and now serve up to 400. We have come a long way in a short time. Thanks again to the people of Trinity and all the groups that have shared in the Banquet meals. Thank you also to Jon Lee at the Bread Poets, who graciously gives bread to us every Thursday. Without you, the volunteers, we would not be able to support this ministry. Thank you to all who are so devoted to this ministry and give so freely of your time and financial help.
We pray for your continued spiritual and financial support and kindness. God bless you all!
