Mission Trip Update
KC Clayson
Trinity Lutheran is developing an ongoing relationship with a Lutheran Church in Esquel Argentine.
The church Esparanza Del Sur (The Church of the Hope of the South) will partner with Trinity to support and
enrich each other's Christian faith.
Dates : March 9-21st, 2006
Trinity's Mission Committee was developed at the conclusion of the churches' 40 Days of Purpose campaign.
The committee has been researching a viable Global Mission for over a year. It was a blessing to associate with
Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry , based in Minneapolis. Gordon Olson and his wife have dedicated
their lives to Ministry and were inspirational in leading us to partner with the Lutheran Church in Argentina.
Mission Statements by traveling members:
Steve Sathre: "Nothing makes God's mission in the world more exciting than seeing it in action in a different country and context. The enthusiasm of our brothers and sisters in Christ in other countries inspires me to serve God in my context. I hope to come back from our mission trip with renewed vision and energy for ministry."
Shirley and Roger Branning: "We know that this mission is a wonderful privilege. Although it is a responsibility, it is also a great honor to fulfill God's purpose. We want to take part in helping our congregation develop a lasting friendship with the Church of Hope of the South."
KC Clayson: "Through the study of the Purpose Driven Life, I realized that participating in a Global Mission was very possible. I am blessed to represent Trinity in building a long relationship with our new Lutheran friends in Argentina."
Michelle Clayson: "I was inspired by the Purpose Driven Life's discussion of our 5th purpose: We are made for a mission. I'm hoping this trip will help me shift to more global thinking, and experience a little of what it will be like in heaven, when people from 'every race, tribe, nation, and language' will one day stand before Jesus to worship Him. It will be a wonderful privilege to work with the people of the Hope of the South church, as we become partners in faith."
Al Behrens: "Mission trips are an opportunity to share our faith in God, both in word and deed. It's an opportunity to develop friendships with God's people in another part of our world and a chance to share all that God has given us."
Linda Behrens: "A mission trip gives both the active participant and their church family a broader perspective of the world and increases cross-cultural understanding. It's an opportunity to understand the world's needs and use the gifts and talents God has given us for the glory of Jesus, our Savior."
